HNTB is expanding our surface water design practice to develop specialty services and in support of our transportation and aviation client programs. The successful candidate will: • conduct or supervise analysis and design work as task lead and ensure that work is complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice; • be technically involved in the analysis and resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project; and • work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. Duties include analysis and design of stormwater conveyance, detention, and treatment systems at conceptual, preliminary, and full design levels; development of stormwater and hydraulics design reports; and production of plans, specifications, and estimates for construction of both conventional design/bid/build and design/build projects. Duties may also include development of work plans (scope, schedule, and budget) and supervision of other team members.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• PE registration, Bachelor's degree in Engineering, plus five or more years of experience focused on stormwater and hydraulics systems analysis and design.
• Minimum of two years of experience being responsible for stormwater management design on WSDOT projects in western Washington.
• Current Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) training
• Working knowledge of CADD systems (AutoCAD and/or Microstation).
• Good oral and written communications skills.
Desirable Qualifications
• Familiarity/Relationships with state and local jurisdictions, and regulatory agencies in western Washington.
• Stream restoration/rehabilitation experience
• Corps of Engineer or local jurisdiction levee experience
• Completed HRM training
• InRoads experience.
• Active in relevant professional organizations.
• Committed commits to project deadlines, follows through, and facilitates design progress on a multi-disciplinary projects.
