PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION

The purpose of this classification, under supervision of an engineer, project manager, or Capital Projects Coordinator, is to perform site inspections, prepare reports, review development plans, review drainage plans and related design specifications, perform field reconnaissance, assist with stormwater and floodplain analysis, review hydraulic models, compile data from various sources to build and maintain a stormwater system database, coordinate work with other City departments and with other entities as necessary to perform job duties. Responsible for successful submittals and approvals for state and federal programs related to stormwater, including, but not limited to, NPDES MS4, CRS, SWPPP, E&SC. Working knowledge of stormwater management methods, hydraulics, water quality and vegetative BMPs, soil conditions,drainage systems, LOMR/CLOMR, and E&SC design and review manual is essential. Performs other related duties as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree in construction technology, engineering technology, or environmental-related subject with minimum of five (5) years of experience in stormwater management, construction management,environmental science, or related field. Possession of a FDEP Stormwater Inspection Certification or Florida Stormwater Association Stormwater Inspector Certifications I & II, or the ability to obtain the listed certifications; supplemented by three (3) to five (5) years of experience that provides a working knowledge of various types of construction, and provides familiarity with principles and practices of monitoring construction contract compliance; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Possession of a Commercial Building Inspectors Certification is preferred. Adept with the city’s reporting software HiperWeband Track-IT or the ability to become adept within six months.
SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS: Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
