Description

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Engineering for Capital Projects and Utilities, or as directed, the Civil Engineer, Stormwater will coordinate stormwater projects and review subdivision, land development and capital improvement project plans to ensure prepared plans comply with codes, ordinances, professional standards, best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in civil, sanitary or environmental engineering or closely related field of study
  • Ability to obtain Stormwater Management Combined Administrator certification (upon completion of certification process by Commonwealth of Virginia)
  • Must possess and maintain certification as an Engineer - In - Training (EIT), or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire date
  • Valid, Virginia driver's license with the ability to meet and maintain Town insurability requirements with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience
  • Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull objects and/or materials up to 80 pounds (with assistance as need); ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/bend/crawl/reach/push/pull
  • Work unscheduled overtime as circumstances and workload dictate
  • Experience in stormwater design and management with knowledge of NPDES Phase II regulations and federal, state and local environmental regulatory laws and codes governing stormwater and construction projects
  • ¬†Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Hydroflow, WIN TR - 55, MS Project or equivalent
