Greeley Water Conservation

Description

WATER CONSERVATION WORKSHOP -- The Greeley Water Conservation program will host a free series of workshops about sustainable landscape practices, beginning Jan. 17. Workshops in the Landscape Lecture Series start at 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Ave. In the first workshop on Jan. 17, Colorado State University master gardener coordinator Amy Lendt will walk guests through each of the seven steps of xeriscape. The second workshop on Feb. 21 will feature landscape architect and Greeley parks planner Sarah Boyd on the subject of xeriscape maintenance and care. Ruth Quade, Greeley Water Conservation coordinator, will teach Life After Lawn on March 21 — teaching about the transition from grass to xeriscape. The March workshop will coincide with the launch of a "Cash-for-Grass" project from Greeley Water Conservation. The incentive program will aim to encourage Greeley Water customers to reduce turf on their landscapes.
